Visit La Campagnola for Traditional Italian Fare
September 27, 2016 | klein
Since 1999, Antonio and Rosa LoPiccolo have owned and operated La Campagnola, an Italian restaurant and special event space in Lansdale. The building was originally a private residence, but the LoPiccolos personally remodeled a small Cape Cod cottage into a charming full service restaurant with three separate dining areas. Regulars compare the dining experience with visiting Italian relatives; the hosting family chatters with each other in Italian, visitors stop by regularly, the garlic bread is warm (and complimentary!), and the comfort food comes in hearty portions.
The menu features classic Italian-American entrees in all of the standard categories: baked dishes, pasta, chicken, veal, and seafood, as well as some house specials like flounder parm and chicken Siciliano. Yelp reviewers particularly recommend the penne with pink vodka sauce and the "Chicken Frank Sinatra" special.
Be aware that, aside from special events, the restaurant closes between 3-4p.m. to change over from lunch to dinner service.
